Print... Hardcopy print important values about the current scale
Exit Exit the SCALES program

Menu Playing Style

Random Play. Play all notes randomly. In high speed this is useful for an aurial feel of a scale's modus

Paus/rep...

In TONEROW mode playing always start from the left.

Reset current values If you have experimented too much, you might want to start from your scratch before you make any permanent changes
Set default values Force the combination shown in the figure

Save settings

 

Save your settings in the registry
OK - Save and Exit As the caption says - save your settings and exit back to the SCALES program
Repeat Playing will repeat until manually stopped
Auto change direction Scale play up and turn back down or vice versa
Start direction down Begin playing from the top and play downwards
Long ending tone When not automatically repeated you can have the scale end with a longer, more beautiful :-), note
Pause up When repeated, playing make a short silence before turning direction down
Pause down When repeated, playing make a short silence before turning to direction up

Instrument
. Choose a musical instrument as the sound of the playing scale.
 

These instrument sounds are no more than your sound equipment can produce. The main purpose of SCALES is to manage SCALES, not make beautiful sounds...

You can play while changing sound without leaving the menu.

Menu Standard Scales  

The Melodic minor is special - this scale have different ascending and descending parts. In SCALES only the ascending part is displayed, but the descending part is played correctly.

Use the Chromatic scale when you want to create a 12-tone series.

Settings...


These are the default values.
History Stack Size - enter a value 1 - 99 or scroll throught available sizes

Use the button to set these default values.

TOGGLE COLORS button will repeatedly walk through available color sets
Click the small marking square and OK to change options. All settings will be saved in the windows registry.

Language/Språk... Choose English (default) or Swedish
Select MIDI Unit Choose a MIDI unit in your system that make you hear the sounds of the playing scales.
