Standard
scales. <<Back
These scales from different sources are so popular
in various contexts that they often are put in
a set of their own: standard scales.
Three diatonic scales
derived from the natural harmonics: major, pentatonic,
eolian minor. Two diatonic scales
adapted for easier singing: melodic minor,
harmonic minor. Three chromatic
constructed scales: diminished,
whole-tone, chromatic. Diatonic
= not altered, having no chromatic tone steps
Chromatic = altered by an accidential
(sharp # or flat b) Chromatic constructed
= comprising several chromatic tone steps
Pentatonic = having five different
tones buildt of five intervals.
How to put standard
scales on the stack.
-In your opened SCALES dictionary
- click a scale name on the Scandard Scales
menu (see image below).
-In your opened SCALES dictionary
- open the STANDARDS.STX
file and all popular standard scales are immediatelly
put on top of the stack.
The STANDARDS.STX
